Ben A. Charles, age 81 of Lake Station passed away Friday, March 16, 2012. He was born on June 6, 1930 in Auburn, Illinois. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Ben loved working on small engines, fishing and watching Nascar.
He is survived by 1 son, Larry Charles of Dyer, IN; 1 daughter, Judith (Gerald) Van Cura of Lake Station, IN; 3 grandchildren, Bryan (Jennifer) Rearick, Jeremy (Gina) Charles, Sarah (Dan) Schaaf, and 6 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy "Jean" Charles and 1 son, Ben A. Charles, Jr..
