Benjamin Mance III, age 57 of Lake Station passed away Sunday, August 11, 2024, at St. Mary Medical Center. He was born on July 14, 1967, in Gary, Indiana to the late Benjamin Mance Jr. and Ruby Mance. He was a 1985 graduate of Roosevelt High School. Ben was currently employed as a Laborer for Starcon. He loved spending time cooking, barbecuing, and most of all baking cookies with his granddaughters, nieces and nephews. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. Above all, his greatest joy in life was his family. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.

He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Christina Mance; children, Bianca Mance, Dominic Hurley, Arnitrice Mance, Zacharaie Hurley, Melton Towns, Benjamin Mance IV; grandchildren, De'jia Mance, Ayvianna Hurley, Joshua Mance; sister, LaTrina Mance; brother, Rodney Mance; and numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Ruby Mance; brother, Kameron Cooks.

A funeral service for Ben will take place Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 10:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage. He will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.
