BENNIE HICKS BOLTON, age 80, of Portage, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 5, 2011. Bennie was born April 3, 1931 in Bells, Tennessee to Luther Bolton and Mary (nee Norville) Bolton.
He was a retired millwright from US Steel in Gary. Bennie was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the N.R.A.
Bennie is survived by his wife, Mert Bolton, 5 children: Gary Bolton of North Judson, IN, John (Rita) Bolton of Glendale, AZ, Larry Bolton of Portage, JoAnn (Robert) Bermudez of South Haven, and Martha Cox of Portage, 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 3 sisters: Betty Keeton, Mary Ann Cook and Rosie Fisher, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation and funeral services will both be held Wednesday, August 10, 2011 with the visitation beginning at 10 am until the funeral service begins at 1:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, with Rev.
