BERTHA E. COLLINS, age 85, of Valparaiso, passed away Monday, October 29, 2012 at Porter Regional Hospital in Valparaiso. Bertha had been a longtime Northwest Indiana resident and formerly employed as a dietician/housekeeper at various nursing homes. Bertha was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.
Bertha is survived by 2 sons, Robert "Mike" Neiswender of Argos, Indiana, John Gilbert, Jr., of Grand Rapids, MI, 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, sister, Anna (Ervil) Murphy of Portage and nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Collins and 5 sisters: Dorothy Puckett, Alma Thompson, Ruth Heaton, Mary Dublo and Josephine Watts.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 12:00 noon at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage with Pastor Lloyd Howard officiating.
