Age 62, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2014. Bert was born on December 6, 1951 in Lynn Massachusetts to the late Bert and Mildred (nee Ethel) Painchaud. On July 29, 1972 Bert married the love of his life Janet Croft. He was a retired new construction electrician at Nipsco. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend.Bert is survived by his birth mom, Constance Thomas of Portage; daughter, Rochelle (Andy ) Cox of Portage; two grandchildren, Madison and Drew Cox; brother, William (Nancy) Beil of Florida; two sisters, Sandra (Mike) Davis of Tennessee, Catherine(John) Childress of Portage, many other loving family members and friends.In lieu of flowers donations to the family would be appreciated.
Funeral services for Bert will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 4 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage with Pastor John Hurt officiating. Cremation will follow.
