Betty Covelli, age 92, of Lake Station, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, July 25, 2017. She was born in Islington, New South Wells, Australia on March 29, 1925 to the late John "Jack" and Janet (nee Merrion) Condron. Betty became a US Citizen on August 26, 1999 after coming to the US in 1950. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church in Lake Station since 1951, where she was part of the Ladies Sodality Organization and the Rosary Altar Society. She also worked in the BINGO hall for 25 years at the church. She retired after 34 years at the age of 81 from the Lake Station Community School System as a Para Professional Tutorial aide at Poke School. She continued to work at the school for 5 years in the registration department. She belonged to the VFW, Post 9323. Betty touched many lives and will be missed by many.
Betty is survived by sons, Don Covelli, John Covelli, Frank Covelli; grandchildren, William "Billy" Covelli, Anthony "Tony" Covelli, Madelene Covelli, , Corrie (Angela) Covelli; and sisters, Marlene (Doug) Naggs, Faye (Ray) Wamsley, Ruth (Greg) Gill.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Ross Covelli; infant daughter, Janet Covelli; grandson, Christopher Covelli; brother, Jack Condron; sister, Beryl Long; and her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Thursday, July 27, 2017 starting with 9:30 prayers at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel, 3781 Central Ave. Lake Station, IN 46405 then immediately proceeding to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2447 Putnam Street, Lake Station, IN 46405 with Rev. David Kime officiating and Rev. Dominic Bertino concelebrating. Betty will be laid to rest at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville.
