Betty D. Drone (nee Garrett), age 79, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 19, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 29, 1935 in Greenville, Kentucky to the late William and Ruby Lee Garrett. Betty cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. She will always be remembered as a dedicated mother, grandmother, sister and friend who would gladly give her heart away.

Betty is survived by her daughter: Sheila Wood; step-daughter: Judy A. (Jeff) Jones; grandchildren: Billy (Kristina) Wood, Zachary Jones; great grandchildren: Landen Wood, Tyler Wood, Halley Wood; brothers: Vermon Lee (Emma) Garrett, Joseph (Wanda) Garrett, Robert (Diane) Garrett, Paul Ray (Cindy) Garrett; sisters: Wilma Jean Dunlop, Ruby Jane Bibbee; special family friends: Tamara (James) Hnatiuk and Dennis Wood.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruby Lee Garrett; husband: Mathias Drone; 3 grandchildren; brothers: James Garrett, Billy Garrett, Larry Garrett; sisters: Emma June Kirtley, Shirley Langley.

A funeral service for Betty will take place Monday, March 23, 2015 at 10:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Reverend Michael Cooper officiating. She will be laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Park in Hobart. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
