Betty (nee Wiening) Graun, age 94, of Crown Point, formerly of Hammond passed away Monday, June 19, 2023, at Crown Point Christian Village. She was born on January 25, 1929, to the late Edward and Kathleen (nee Waldron) Wiening in Hammond, Indiana. Betty married the love of her life the late Alvin Graun on February 12, 1947, in Hammond, Indiana and they spent 55 loving years together before his passing in 2002. She was a member of Unity Church of Northwest Indiana, the Ladies Guild , and the Goodwill Auxiliary of Hammond. Doing crafts was a way of life for Betty. She enjoyed knitting slippers to donate to the Shriner Children Hospital and was an avid doll collector. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Betty is survived by her son, John (Sue) Graun; daughter, Jeanne Coleman; brother, Larry Wiening; sister, Sharon (Dennis) Ley; six grandchildren, Jason (Nissa) Graun, Kenny (Jen) Coleman, Krissy (Larry) Regnier, Emily (Dominic) Davenport, Ronnie (Tonya) Coleman and J.T. (Tracy) Graun; ten great-grandchildren, Charlie Graun, Joey Graun, Camryn Spencer, Stella Coleman, Jackson Regnier, Amelia Regnier, Ava Davenport, Bre Davenport, Alicia Graun and Sofia Graun; daughter in law, Sandy Graun, and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Alvin Graun; son, Alvin "Cork" Graun; two brothers, Edward "Bud" (Nancy) Wiening and John (Nancy) Wiening, sister, Edna (Edward) Graun.
