Betty Lois Jenkins

Betty Lois Jenkins, age 82, a longtime resident of Hobart passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2011. She was born on October 16, 1928 in Oblong, Illinois, the daughter of Purn and Edna Pasley. Betty was married to Carl Jenkins and he preceded her in death. Betty had worked for the River Forest School system and was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of New Chicago.

Betty is survived by her loving family; son Dennis (Debbie) Bastin, Hobart, daughters Lorreta (Ray) Lockwood, California, and Susan Powell, Hobart, 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, brother Allen (Beverly) Pasley, Texas, sister Patty (Jim) Rickman, Massachusetts, and other loving family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carl Jenkins, brother Bob Pasley, sister Shirley Cotton, sister Barbara Pierce, and sister Catherine Alb.

A visitation for Betty Jenkins will be held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Rees Funeral Home – Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am on Thursday, with Pastor Richard Brown, officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Portage.
