Betty Jo Peek "BJ", age 88, of Wanatah passed away Monday, July 16, 2018. She was born August 1, 1929 in Attica, Indiana to the late Harry and Edna (nee Lamme) Ritchie. Betty was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Wanatah and was a past member of Royal Neighbors of America and CHI. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother.

Betty Jo is survived by her children, Rick Peek, Vicki Jo Peek, Michael (Karen) Peek and Scott Peek; grandchildren, Tobi (Andrew) Allen, Douglas Small, Tanya (Chuck) Karasch, Tamara Small, Danielle (Ty) Tucci Murray Harmon, Darren Peek, Olivia Peek, Mason Peek, Jake Peek, Molly Peek, Ruby Jo Peek, Jamie (Nathan) Moore, Jessie (Jerrick) Adams, Kyle Peek and Nathan Peek, Charlie Graening and Rachael Graening; great grandchildren, Jevon (Autumn) Stringer, Isabella Robbins, Reese Robbins, Peyton Allen, Kaila (Ray) Ramirez, Angel Adams, Eyla Moore, Riley Moore, Ella Karasch and Mynah Karasch, Adysen Murray,Bella Murray and Carlee Murray ; great-great granddaughter, Violet Stringer; several nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm M. Peek; her parents and sister, Mary Ellen Thayer.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children or Salem United Church of Christ Student Fund.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 5341 Central Ave, Portage, Indiana 46368, with Pastor Victoria Ubben officiating. Burial at Salem Cemetery in Wanatah, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service also at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel Portage.
