Age 86 of Hobart, IN, passed away on March12, 2013. She was born October 14, 1926 to the late Hershael and Mary (nee McGlothin) May in Bloomington, Indiana. Betty was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hobart and a past chaplain for the American Legion Auxiliary Post 289.
Betty is survived by her loving daughters; Carol (Bruce) Luttinen and La Donna (Vincent Jr.) Gabriel; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, numerous sister-in-laws, brother- in-laws, nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband; Lee Roy Wood, her parents, brother; Gerald May and Beloved Nephew; Aaron May, in laws; Dewey and Alpha May, numerous sisters-in-laws and brothers in laws.
A funeral Service for Betty will be held Friday March 15, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana with Rev. Jonathon Gosser officiating. Entombment will follow at Calumet Park Mausoleum in Merrillville, IN. A visitation for Betty will be Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 2-8p.m at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
