BEUNIA A. "AILEEN" SMITH, age 86, of Lake Station, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014. She was born on February 16, 1928 in Kentucky and had been a resident of Lake Station since 1952. Aileen had formerly been employed at American Bridge Company as a sandblaster. She loved her dog Gigi and cat Coco. Aileen used to enjoy reading and watching TV. She will be deeply missed.

Aileen is survived by her 3 sons, Richard (Stacey) Smith of Valparaiso, Garfield (Judy) Smith of Largo, FL, Kenneth Smith of Lake Station; daughter, Delois (Frank) Olivarri of Spring Valley, MN; 7 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; sister Cleda McKiddy of Chicago Heights, IL; other loving family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John "Snuffy" Smith; her parents, Esther and Pearlie Brooks; brother, Coolidge Brooks and sister, Beulah Greer.

Funeral services for Aileen will be Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart with Pastor Robert Parnell officiating.
