Bill Raftopoulos

Bill Raftopoulos, age 88, of Miller, passed away Monday, May 25, 2026, in his home. Bill was born May 25, 1938, in Aigion, Greece to the late Panagiotis and Theodora (Thomas) Raftopoulos. He worked at Inland Steel as a crane operator and was a barber for over forty years. Bill came from a family of barbers. He was a veteran of the Greek army prior to coming to America.

Bill is survived by his loving wife Maria (Psagrellis) Raftopoulos; one son, Peter Raftopoulos of Miller; and many other relatives and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Kostantinos and Loannis.

Visitation for Bill will be from 11:00 am to 11:30 am Monday, June 1, 2026, at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral 8000 Madison Street Merrillville, IN 46410. The Funeral Service of the Orthodox Church will follow immediately at 11:30 am. Burial will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery. Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road assisted with arrangements.
