Bill Stafford, age 87, passed away Thursday August 18, 2016 at his home with his family by his side. He was born July 2, 1929 in Dyer County, Tennessee to the late George W. and Ada R. (Payton) Stafford. He retired as a machine operator from Keyes Fiber in Hammond. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and most of all spending time with his family.
Bill is survived by three daughters, Beverly (Bill) Manship of Lake Station, Kimberly (Bob) Stafford of Bowling Green, KY and Donna Stafford of Butler; two sisters, Marie (Billy) Autry and Dema Sykes both of TN; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Virginia Faye, parents, two brothers Jack and Buck Stafford, and a sister Nookie.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Monday August 22, 2016 at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana 46342 with Pastor Mike Autry officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-8 pm at the funeral home.
