Billie Ray Davis, age 82, of Chesterton, Indiana passed away Thursday March 10, 2022, in his home with his family by his side. Billie was born February 21, 1940, in Westfield, Illinois to the late Harold G. and Wanda (Buckler) Davis. He was an electrician working out of the South Bend, Indiana local Union of the IBEW. Billie loved Dirt Track Racing and was a multi-time Track Champion at Broadway Speedway, Southlake Speedway, Kankakee Fairgrounds Speedway, and Rensselaer Raceway. He acted as a Mentor to many young racers and was respected by the whole race community. His Racing Career spanned across six decades.

Billie is survived by wife Jean Davis; daughters, Teresa A. (Ricky Wakefield) Davis of Whitehall, Michigan and Tina Lynn (Josh) Hardesty of Westville; three granddaughters, Heather, Hannah, and Maile; his great grandson, Zane; two brothers, Bruce (Lynn) Kaplon of Hebron and Gary Kaplon of Kansas, Illinois; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Ron Davis.

Billie Ray will be cremated with no attended services in accordance with his wishes.
