Billie Jo (nee Larkins) Evans age 91, of Portage formerly of Crown Point passed away Monday, September 25, 2023, at home. She was born on July 6,1932, in Gravette, Arkansas to the late Kenneth and Irene (nee Carter) Larkins. On March 2,1952, she married Benjamin B. Evans in Reno, Nevada and together they raised three children. She retired from Mervin's Department Store, where she worked as a Clerk. Billie Jo enjoyed camping, campfires, and spending time at the ocean; mostly she loved being with her family. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

She is survived by her daughter, Leona (Mark) McCall; four grandchildren Nicole Stephens, Jason Stephenson, Heather, and Stephanie McCall; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth (Helen) Larkins and Jerry (Linda) Larkins; sister, Nancy Brown; son-in-law, Doug Stephenson; numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin B. Evans; son, Benjamin Evans; daughter, Joyce Stephenson; her parents and sisters, Betty Hunsucker and Mary Huges.

A memorial service for Billie Jo will be held Saturday, September 30,2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave. Portage, Indiana 46368. A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. also at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.
