Billie Wayne Evans, age 85 of Lake Station passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021. He was born on January 4, 1936 in Hornersville, Missouri to the late Paul and Marion Evans. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force and the Army Reserves. He married Barbara Shaffer in Marion, Illinois in 1979. Bill retired from US Steel. In his free time, he enjoyed the outdoors fishing and camping with his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Evans; children, Paul Evans, Damita Evans, Shane Evans; stepsons, Danny (Ann) Vandiver, James (Renee) Vandiver; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Dr. Luis (Sandy) Cuellar; sisters, Sandra Cuellar, Barbara (Loren) England, Linda Cuellar, Anita Cuellar, Pat (Jim) Ireland; and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Sue Vance.

A funeral service for Bill will take place Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 5:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage. Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until time of service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Illinois.
