BILLY J. CLIFT, age 90, of Hobart, and formerly a longtime Glen Park resident, passed away Monday, December 30, 2013. Billy was born on November 22, 1923 in Greenville, KY to the late Maggie and Roy Clift. He served in the US Army during WWII. Billy retired from the Sheet and Tin Mill at US Steel after 40 plus years of service. He was a member of the F.O.E. Aerie #2413. Billy will be deeply missed.

Billy is survived by his son, James (Michele) Clift of Hobart; daughter, Jamie (Anthony) Hernandez of Schererville; 3 grandchildren, Anthony E. (Ariel) Hernandez, Michael V. Hernandez, and Robert A. Hernandez; brother, Ben Clift of Bradenton, FL; other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mary Elizabeth (nee McMurry) and 1 brother, Joe Clift; and 2 sisters, Mable Carter and Evelyn Thomason.

A funeral service for Billy will be Friday, January 3, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart, with Rev. Doug Klukken officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
