Billy G. Rankin, age 94, of Hobart passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024. He was born on December 24, 1929, in Cynthianna, Kentucky to the late Everette and Ellen Rankin. Billy served in the United States Army. He worked as an elevator and escalator installer for National Elevator Co. in Indianapolis. In his free time, he enjoyed anything that had to do with fishing or carpentry. His greatest joy in life was his family, and he cherished spending time with them.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Rosalie Rankin; children, Dale Rankin, Dee Ann (Jim) Smith, Kevin Rankin, Mary Jo (Kyle) Power, Terry D. Williams; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; several loving nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everette and Ellen Rankin; his sons, Dean Rankin and Keith Rankin; stepson, Roger Cox; and all of his brothers and sisters.

Burial of cremains for Billy and his son, Roger Cox will take place Friday, September 13, 2024 at 10:30 am directly at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery .
