Blanca Santos, age 91, of Hobart, was called home to the Lord Thursday August 31, 2023, at the home of her daughter. She was born November 22, 1931, in Ciales, Puerto Rico to the late Emilio and Eduarda (Rivera) Rivera. She retired as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the surgical department at St. Mary Medical Center with twenty-five years of service. Blanca was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church in Hobart.

Blanca married Ramon Santos in Ciales, Puerto Rico in 1953.  They raised six children and were together for 31 years until Ramon's passing in 1984. She lived at Linden House of Hobart, where she made many friends and stayed busy with them.  Blanca loved to cook and bake.  She also loved to walk with her friends and took part in many different activities.

Blanca is survived by six children, Yvette (Robert) Goodpaster of Hobart, Ramon (Wanda) Santos, of Florida, Erwin (Jenny) Santos of Merrillville, Marilyn Santos of California, Lillian (Joseph) Sullivan of Hobart, and Ronald (Laura) Santos of Japan; three brothers, Bartollo (Annie) Rivera, Antonio (Calri) Rivera, and Armando (Nilsa) Rivera all of Puerto Rico; and one sister, Carmen Inez Dones of Chicago.

She loved all her 15 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

And many nieces and nephews, whom she dearly loved.

In addition to her parents and loving husband, Blanca was preceded in death by her sisters, Maria Arroyo, Maria Luisa Marrero, Ana Santos, Carmen Rivera, and Amelia Ross; and her grandson, Jonathan Santos.

Blanca's family will receive friends from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm, Friday, September 15, 2023, at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana 46342 with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm.  Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
