Bobbie Ruth Carrigan, "Everybody's Grandma" age 81 of Lake Station passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2011. She was born on February 24, 1930 in Yorkville, TN to the late Clay and Ethel Saine. She was a longtime Lake Station resident. Bobbie was a longtime active member of Liverpool Baptist Church where she served as a preschool teacher for over 40 years. She married James W. Carrigan on January 9, 1949 in Corinth, MS.
She is survived by her husband, James W. Carrigan of Lake Station, IN; 3 children, Robert Wayne (Pamela) Carrigan of Dyer, TN; Sandra Ragon of Portage, IN; Michael Carrigan of Carbon, IN; 1 sister, Sue Petty of Yorkville, TN; 8 grandchildren, Robert Carrigan, Kimberly (Eric) Newton, Jarrett (Jennifer) Ragon, Nicole Ragon, Kristal Ragon, Cassie (Charles) Kodie, Todd Dobrowolski, Amy Dobrowolski, 4 great-grandchildren, Zachary Ragon, Haley Lawrence, Russell Ragon, Samantha Kodie, an numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clay and Ethel Saine, 1 son-in-law, Russell Ragon, and 1 great-grandson, Ryan Kodie.
Funeral services are Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave. Portage with Rev. Charles L. Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Portage. Visitation is Friday, April 1, 2011 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.
