BOBBY G. POWELL, age 83, of Hobart, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2015. He was born on November 26, 1931 in Sturgis, KY. He served in the United States Army and was a retiree of EJ & E Railroad. Bobby will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doye (nee Benton); daughter, Cheryl L. Powell; brother, Dewayne Powell; sister, Louise (Rev. Caudie) Caudill; brother-in-law, Robert (Brenda) Benton; numerous nieces and nephews.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Beulah Powell; 3 sisters, Kathleen Humphrey, Dorothy Gail Morgan, and Barbara Ann Combs; and brother, Thomas Powell.

A funeral service for Bobby will be Monday, June 1, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart, with Rev. Patricia Riley-Churilla officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Portage.
