Bobby E. Turner, age 76 of Portage passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013. He was born on April 14, 1936 in Columbus, North Carolina to the late James and Alma Turner. Bobby was a Portage resident for the past 34 years and was formerly of Hobart and Hammond. He retired from National Steel in 1999. Bobby was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Hobart and he loved working on cars.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 55 years, Doris J. Turner (nee Jones) of Portage, IN; 2 sons, Jeff Turner of Portage, IN; John (Amber) Turner of Hobart, IN; 3 grandchildren, Drake and Jordan Turner, and Alexis Chizmar all of Hobart, IN.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Turner.

Funeral services are Friday, March 15, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Pastor Richard Brown officiating. Burial will follow at McCool Cemetery.
