Bobby D. Vann, age 83, of Hebron, IN, passed away Monday, February 10, 2014 at Golden Living Center in Valparaiso. He was born on August 19, 1930 to the late Thomas Jefferson and Bessie Jane (Nee Williamson) Vann in Gilliham, Arkansas. On September 10, 1955 Bobby married the love of his life Elizabeth Hundsdoif in Bensheim, Germany. He worked for 32 years as an Automotive Supervisor at U.S Steel and retired in 1985. Bobby proudly served his country in the United States Army. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Bobby is survived by his wife of 59 yrs., Elizabeth Vann of Hebron; son, Walter (Pamela) Vann of Hebron; daughter, Barbara (Keith) Smith of Egan, Minnesota; three grandchildren, Kimberly (Joe) Ivanyo, Stephanie (Tom) Corsiglia and Bobby Warrens; brother, Gerald T. (Bonnie) Vann of Hebron and many other loving family members and friends. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Aubrey, Raymond and Billy Vann and two sisters, Elaine Flowers and Esta Hughs. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Michael Lutheran Church or Alzheimer's Association in Bobby's honor would be appreciated. Bobby will be cremated and buried at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville per his wishes. There will be no attending services.
