Bonnie E. Perkins

Bonnie E. Perkins (Vance), age 86, of LaPorte passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022. She was born on March 28, 1936 in Franklin, Kentucky to the late Clarence and Beulah Vance. On April 16, 1952 she married Marion Eugene Perkins in Tennessee. She was very proud of her yard and enjoyed spending time outdoors tending to her flowers. She also enjoyed cooking for her family and will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She is survived by her sons, David (Judy) Perkins, James (Ann) Perkins; daughters, Sandra (Dennis) Bobb, Dorthy (Weston) Bartels, Connie (Mark) Allen; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and sister, Oleta Derring.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Perkins; parents, Clarence and Beulah Vance; 3 brothers, Carl, John and Herbert Vance; and one sister, Helen Crafton.

A funeral service for Bonnie will take place Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 9:30 am at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave. Portage. Visitation will be held Friday, July 15, 2022 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Chesterton Cemetery. For more information, please call (219) 762-3013.
