Brenda Echterling, age 62 of Valparaiso passed away Thursday, October 27, 2011.
She was formerly a longtime Munster resident and formerly worked for the Post Tribune. Brenda was a member of the 29th Ave. Baptist Church in Lake Station.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Ruth Eldridge, 2 sons, Michael (Angie) Echterling of Highland, IN; Jason (Michelle) Echterling of KY; 3 daughters, Andrea (Doug) Shader of Valparaiso, IN; Carlene (John) Hurt of Portage, IN; Christy (Frank) Staley of Valparaiso, IN; 3 brothers, Frank (Heather) Green of Lake Village, IN; Arthur Green, Wayne Green, 1 sister, Oma Green, 1 brother-in-law, Lonnie Bierman of Rensselaer, IN; grandchildren, Zach, Cody, Skylar, Madison, Evan, Jonah, Levi, Bruce, James, Kevin, Ashley, Nate, Vincent, Arianna, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Echterling, her father, A.J. Green, step-father, James Eldridge, and 1 sister, Diana Bierman.
Funeral services are Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 3 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage with Rev. John Hurt officiating. Cremation will follow.
