Brenda Mockaitis

Age 70, of Lake Station passed away Monday, January 13, 2025, at VNA Hospice in Valparaiso. She was born on April 13, 1954, in Gary, Indiana to the late Jessie and Vivian (nee Miller) Walker. She was a retired food service worker from Lake Station School District and had previously worked as a bartender. She maintained a lifetime membership with Izac Walton. Her leisure activities included gardening, sewing, playing darts with friends, and foremost spending time with family.

She is survived by her children, son Michael (Haley) Nicholson, daughter, Wendy (Rich) Nicholson; grandchildren, Kayla, Jessie, Emily, Samantha, Hunter, Zachary, Brooke, Jayden, Evin and Michael; great grandchildren, Milo, Coraline, Mateo, Leila and Lance; siblings, Cindy Feitshans, Janie (Bob) Walker and Jesse (Sandi) Walker and many other loving family members and friends.

Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Mockaitis; grandson, Bernard M. Nicholson; and brother, Mickey Walker.

A funeral service for Brenda will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Portage.
