Brenda Marge Terese Russ

Brenda Marge Terese Russ, age 48, a lifelong resident of Portage, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2011. She was born on December 8, 1963 in Gary. Brenda was a 1981 graduate of Portage High School and then attended business college. Brenda then worked as a loan officer for Advance Financial Credit Union for over 20 years. She was a member of Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church. Brenda was very outgoing and energetic and loved doing crafts including shadow boxes and decorating birthday cards.

Brenda is survived by her loving family; son Joshua David Galvan, Portage, mother Joanna Russ, Portage, brothers Keithen (Kathrine) Russ, South Haven, and Martin Russ, Portage, sister Sheila Ann (Rob) Russ-Robbins, Pinkerington, Ohio, her very close cousin Lorraine Landers, Chesterton, former husband Gavino Galvan, Portage, and other loving family and dear friends who will miss her smile, her laugh, and her compassion. She was preceded in death by her father John Russ.

A visitation for Brenda Russ will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Rees Funeral Home – Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, December 19, 2011 at 10:00 am directly at Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church, 2949 Willowcreek Road, Portage. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. Memorials in Brenda's memory may be made to the Saint Vincent De Paul Society or the Hobart Humane Society.
