Brian William Gibson, age 33, of Portage passed away Sunday August 28, 2016 at his home. Brian was born December 21, 1982 in Elkhart, Indiana to John William and Nancy Jane (Bajorek) Gibson. He was a dispatcher for Kaplan Trucking Company. Brian was an avid golfer, die-hard Cubs fan and known as the "Grill Master". He was a loving family man and dedicated to his community of friends.

Brian is survived by his loving wife Lisa (McCloud) Gibson and son Liam Gibson of Portage; his mother Nancy Gibson of Elkhart; his in-laws James (Nancy) McCloud; his stepmother Janice Gibson of Bogalusa, LA; one sister Jennifer (Robert) Schecter of New Orleans, LA; brother-in-law James (Monique) McCloud of Janesville, WI; niece and nephews Mackenzie, Jacob and John; and many other dear friends and extended family.

Brian was preceded in death by his father John.

A visitation will be conducted Thursday September 1, 2016 from 4-8 pm at Grace Baptist Church 5785 Mulberry Ave. Portage, IN 46368. Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel assisted with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations are preferred to Brian's family (Lisa or Liam) and can be sent in care of Grace Baptist Church if mailed.
