Obituary

BRUCE CREASY, age 70, of Portage, passed away Friday, July 15, 2016 at St. Catherine Hospital. He was born in Valparaiso on January 31, 1946 to the late Randall and Vera Creasy. Marvin was active in the community as a driver for the Bonner Senior Center and also tending to the food pantry garden there. He served his country as a member of the National Guard and had formerly been a member of the Portage School Board, a former Trustee of Portage Township. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing and gardening. Marvin will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 48 years, Toni (nee Gobin); son, John (Kimberly) Creasy, Portage; daughter, Jamie (Abdelilah) El Harit, Munster; 6 grandchildren, Paige, Julie, John, Jr., Aneesa, Noah, and Aden; siblings, Wanda Creasy, Bill Creasy, Steryl Creasy, Marlin Creasy, Margaret Ciardella, Barbara Nichols, Joseph Creasy and Larry Creasy.

He was also preceded in death by his brother James Creasy and sisters, Patricia Creasy and Toni Reyes.

There will be funeral service for Bruce on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage, with Pastor Mark L. Dicken officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 20, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Rees Olson Chapel, (219) 762-3013 or go online at www.reesfuneralhomes.com.
