CARL MILTON GRIFFITH, age 72, of Portage, passed away November 1, 2012. He was born on September 15, 1940 to Lenora and George Griffith in St. Johns, MI. Carl served his country in the US Marine Corps. and formerly worked as an OTR driver. He had also belonged to the Grace Baptist Church. Recognized for his strong will, determination and fighting spirit. He will be dearly missed.
Carl is survived by his 9 children, Michael and Randy Godbey, Carl, Greg, Phillip (Kim), Timothy, Grace, Jeffrey and Christine Griffith; 13 grandchildren, Nicholas, Jackson and Randy Godbey, Steven, Katie, Daniel, Cassidy, Alyssa, Triston, Meredyth, Curtis, Alyssa, and Vanessa Griffith; several great grandchildren; 6 siblings, Betty Johnson, Bonnie Wheelock, Louis, Joel, Robert, and George Griffith.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William Griffith.
A funeral service for friends and family of Carl will be Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage. Burial will follow at Heritage Cemetery in Portage.
