Carl L. Spurrier

Carl L. Spurrier, age 67, of Portage, IN and formerly of Owensboro, KY, passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 21, 2022.

Carl was born on November 26, 1954 in Owensboro, KY to Carl F. and Mildred Spurrier.  He was a graduate of Calumet High School. He was a steelworker and Safety Chairman for the Local 1011 for years, before retiring to open his own safety consulting firm.  Carl was a beloved father, loving grandfather, dear son, brother, uncle, and friend to many who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Carl is survived by his children: Jeremy Spurrier of Portage, IN, David (Shaelyn) Spurrier of Portage, IN, Christopher (Corine) Spurrier, Mandy Spurrier of New York, and Vanessa (Jason) Chapman of Portage, IN; mother: Mildren V. Spurrier; sister: Debbie (J.C.) Rhyne-Johnson of Valparaiso; and many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Carl is preceded in death by his father: Carl F. Spurrier.

A Celebration of Carl's Life will be held at the Hobart Fraternal Order of the Eagles (2498 W. 37th Ave, Hobart) on Saturday, August 27, 2022 beginning at 4:00 P.M.  Arrangements and Cremation are entrusted to Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.
