Carmella Aspinwall

Carmella (nee Calabro) Aspinwall, age 87, of Hobart, passed away Monday, March 6, 2017 at Brentwood in Hobart. She was born in Peru, Indiana on April 29, 1929 to the late James Calabro and Mary Venice. She graduated from Hobart High School, class of 1947. Carmella worked at the General Telephone Company, the Budd Plant and later as a telephone operator at the Holiday Star Theater. She was a member of the St. Mary Auxiliary. Carmella will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Carmella is survived by son, Thomas Aspinwall; daughter, Anita (Terry) Alasauskas; grandchildren, Amanda Alasauskas, Bradley Alasauskas; sister, Margaret (Oliver) Case; and sister in law, Carol Calabro.

She was preceded in death by her husband, of 49 years, William E. Aspinwall, Jr.; brothers, Anthony Calabro, James Calabro; son, Augie Aspinwall; and her parents.

A funeral service for Carmella will take place Friday, March 10, 2017 at 10:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, IN 46342 with Deacon Bonta officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Portage. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 2-8 pm at the funeral home. For more information, please call 219-942-2109.
