Carmella P. "Fritzi" Helton

Carmella P. "Fritzi" Helton (nee Montorsi), age 80 a longtime Gary resident passed away Friday, December 15, 2017.  She was born on November 8, 1937 in Gary, Indiana to the late Herman and Jennie Montorsi.  Carmella was a bookkeeper by trade for many years.  She was a member of the Italian Ladies Benevelont Society.  Carmella volunteered her time on the Tolleston Class of 1955 Reunion Committee.  She enjoyed crafting, crocheting, cooking and dancing.  She also enjoyed helping others and was a big supporter of people that were in need.  Carmella loved her family unconditionally.

She is survived by one daughter, Jenny (Ron) Pfeiffer of Portage, IN;  one son, Darin (Jodi) Helton of Gary, IN; three sisters, Leonelda (Bud) Bleiweiss of  Ball Ground, GA;  Marilyn (William) Stark of Crown Point, IN; Carla Bertoch of Crown Point, IN; four grandchildren, Ryke Pfeiffer, Cory Pfeiffer, Cara Pfeiffer, and Sierra Helton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell J. "Wendy" Helton, brother, Joseph Montorsi, and stepmother, Francis Montorsi.

Funeral services are Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 10909 Randolph St., Crown Point/Winfield with Rev. Kurt Odenthal officiating.  Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville.  Visitation is Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 4 p.m.  to 8 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Winfield Chapel.  (219) 661-2600 or online at www.Reesfuneralhomes.com .
