Carmella "Carmie" Lewis

Carmie Lewis (nee Fesi) age 83 a longtime Hobart resident passed away Friday, August 18, 2017. Carmie graduated from Froebel High School, Class of 1951. She was very active in HIEDC, portraying "Mama Mia". She volunteered her time at St Mary Medical Center Auxiliary as a Pink Lady. She was a member of the Tuesday Birthday Club, Sigma Upsilon Alpha Pi Sorority, St Bridget Church, St. Anne Confraternity, Maria Reiner Senior Center, and a past member of the Chip and Charmers monthly Dominoes Club.

She is survived by two step-children, Robert (Carol) Lewis II of Huntsville, TX; Ami Crawford of Hobart, IN; and Ami's three children, Godchildren, Joanne Bartelsen, Sharon Welsh and Jennifer Fesi.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert C. Lewis, parents, Angelina and Dominic Fesi, two brothers, Anthony "Tony", Bishop John, and one sister, Shirley.

Funeral services are Thursday, August 24, 2017 beginning with 9:30 a.m. prayers at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road and proceeding to St. Bridget Church for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Benjamin Ross and Rev. Dominic Bertino concelebrating. Burial will be private at Highland Cemetery, Williamsport, Indiana. Visitation is Wednesday, August 23, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a 4:30 p.m. wake service and a 5 p.m. St. Anne's Rosary service at at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
