Carmen Garcia

María del Carmen García (nee Luna), age 83, passed away peacefully at
home with family on Monday, November 5, 2018.  She was born in
McAllen, Texas on October 11, 1935 to the late Magdaleno and Inocencia
(nee Flores) Luna. She will be remembered as a loving mother,
grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt,
cousin and friend.

Carmen is survived by her children, María Isabel (José Ángel) Sánchez,
Juanita (Roman Enrique) Martínez, Diana Jiménez, Teresa (José Andrade,
Jesse (Debra) García and Carmen (Mike Nilles) Guevara; 19
grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren;
five siblings, Bertha (Salvador) Sánchez, Teresa (Juan) Garza, Janie
(Sergio) Flores, Don (Dee) Luna and Reynaldo Luna and many other
loving family members and friends.

Carmen was preceded in death by her loving husband, José de Jesús
Ortiz García; her parents; ten siblings: José "Pepe" Iliandro Luna,
Inez Magdaleno Luna, Ramiro Luna, Paula Castillo, Josefina Reese
"Josie", Oscar Luna, Mary Lou Ramsey, Marúca Hernández, Antonio "Tony"
Luna, Candelaria Murray and great-grandchild Nicole Browning.

Funeral services for Carmen will be held on Saturday, November 17,
2018 beginning with 9:15 am prayers at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old
Ridge Road and then processing to St Frances Xavier Church, 2447
Putnam Street, Lake Station, IN 46405 for a 10:00 am Mass of Christian
Burial.  She will be laid to rest at Calumet Park Cemetery in
Merrillville.  Friends may gather with the family on Friday, November
16, 2018 from 4:30-8:00 pm, with a 6:00 p.m. Rosary at Rees Funeral
Home, Hobart Chapel.
