Carmen Peach, age 88, a longtime resident of Griffith and recently of Wheatfield, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2011. She was born on April 12, 1923 in Olaton, Kentucky, the daughter of Roy and Lillie Keith, Sr.. Carmen was married to Otis Peach on March 29, 1941 in Kentucky and he preceded her in death on January 31, 1989. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Demotte. Carmen loved to quilt, do oil painting, enjoyed cleaning her home, and working for her church.

Carmen is survived by her loving family; daughters Margaret (John) Riese, Hebron, Ineva Peach, Hebron, and Theresa (Peter) Albertson, Columbia City, seven grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, sister Alice Timmering, Louisville, Kentucky, and other loving family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Otis Peach, her great-grandson Sebastian Rodriguez, her brothers William, Jake, Denver, and Roy Jr., her sisters Mary and Mable.

A visitation for Carmen Peach will be held from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Rees Funeral Home – Winfield Chapel, 10909 Randolph Street, Winfield/Crown Point, IN 46307. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Rees Funeral Home with Chaplain Frank Klobucar, officiating. Burial will be at Hebron Cemetery in Hebron, IN.
