Carmen L. Valles, age 44, of Merriville passed away Friday, October 28, 2011 at St. Margaret Hospital, Hammond, Indiana. Carmen was a member of Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church in Merrillville, volunteered at the Carmelite Home for Girls in East Chicago and was employed by the Social Security Administration in Merrillville as a claims processor.

Carmen is survived by her son, Victor Valles of Niles, MI; brother, Jose Valles of Hammond; sisters, Ana (Jesse) Garcia of Kankakee, IL and Rosa Valles of Hammond, nephews Cecilio and Jesus Garcia, niece Gaudulupe Garcia, many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Cecilio and Blanco Valles.
Memorials are preferred to the Carmelite Home for Girls.

Funeral services for Carmen will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2011 with prayers at 9:30am at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel processing to St Bridget Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. Cremation to follow. Visitation Tuesday, November 1, 2011 from 2-8 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart.
