Carol V. Lewis

Carol V. Lewis, age 84, of Valparaiso, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017.  She was born in Gary, Indiana on November 8, 1932 to the late Harvey and Agnes (nee Fehrenbacher) Evans.  Carol was a past member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Valparaiso.  She worked for Valparaiso University in the History Department.  She was picked Most Beautiful Woman at William A. Wirt High School.  Carol enjoyed golfing, fishing, and traveling, but most of all she cherished spending time with her family.

Carol is survived by sons, Jim (Jean) Lewis, Ronald (Susan) Lewis, John (Nancy) Lewis, Doug (Paula) Lewis, David (Michele) Lewis; daughters, Barb (Jack) Lhuillier, Chris (Steve) Wenger; 20 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother, Harvey (Carol) Evans; and sister in law, Violet Evans, Norma Lewis.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, James W. Lewis; brother, Lynn Evans; sister, Joan (Herbert) Curtis; and her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 20, 2017 at 10:00 am St. Bridget Church, 107 Main St., Hobart, IN 46342 with Rev. Benjamin Ross officiating.  She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery, Portage. Visitation will take place Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 4-8pm at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd.
