Carol Jane Mytyk, age 75, of Portage, IN, passed away at home on Monday, March 27, 2023.

Carol was born on July 14, 1947 to the late Sigmund and Thecla (nee Kozub) Mytyk.  She was a graduate of Andrean High School, Class of 1965 and earned her bachelor's degree from Calumet College of St. Joseph.  Carol worked in finance since she graduated high school, and last was a secretary and bookkeeper with St. Hedwig Catholic Church.

Carol was a lifetime member of St. Hedwig and attended mass at Salvatorian Fathers in Merrillville. She served as the Silver Bell Club Polish National Alliance Lodge 2365 Chaplain and was a member of the Polish-American Cultural Society of Northwest Indiana.

Carol is survived by her siblings: Evelyn Mytyk, John (Barbara W.) Mytyk, and Barbara (Tom) Beuke; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents: Sigmund and Thecla; and brothers: Sig Mytyk and Michael Kenneth Mytyk.

Family and friends may gather at Our Lady of Czestochowa Catholic Church (5755 Pennsylvania St., Merrillville) on Friday, April 21, 2023 from 10:00-11:00 A.M.  A Mass of Christian Burial will take place following memorial visitation at 11:00 A.M.  Carol will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
