Carol Jean Pester (nee Bohling), age 70, of Hobart, IN, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023.

Carol was born on May 23, 1953 in Gary, IN to the late Edward and Zola Mae (nee Knick) Bohling.  She married George Pester on October 23, 1983 and spent 39 years together.  Carol was once a daycare teacher and owned her own daycare business for several years. She then was a homemaker and a devoted mother to her children.  Carol enjoyed being in touch with her friends, some for over 50 years, and was the glue that held them together.  She was the one to call with any problems and was there at your side in a heartbeat.  Carol was a animal lover and had several beloved cats over the years.  She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Carol is survived by her husband: George; children: Paul Pester and Marilynn Pester; and brothers: Russell Bohling and Edward Bohling.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents: Edward and Zola Mae; and sister: Barbara Hawkins.

Family and friends may gather at Rees Funeral Homes, Hobart Chapel (600 W Old Ridge Rd., Hobart) on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 from 3:00-7:00 P.M.  A Funeral Service will take place from Rees Hobart Chapel on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Joy Heine officiating.  At Rest: Calumet Park Cemetery.
