Carolyn S. Anderson, age 69 of Portage passed away Thursday, October 31, 2013 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born on July 24, 1944 in Adolphus, Kentucky to the late Carline and Vera Calvert. She retired from Porter Memorial Hospital where she had worked as a cashier. She loved being a mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed watching movies at home with grandchildren and was an avid birdwatcher.
She is survived by 3 sons, Pastor Jack (Brenda) Anderson, Jr. of Springfield, MI; Andy (Patty) Anderson of Evansville, IN; Ben (Tammi) Anderson of Hobart, IN; 3 brothers, Clyde (Judy) Calvert of Stilesville, IN; Carl Ray (Tracy) Calvert of Indianapolis, IN; Rick Wade (Laurie) Calvert of Gillette, WY; 1 sister Annetta (David) Lawver of Waldron, IN; 6 grandchildren, Ryan, Dylan, Ardenia, Madalyn, Jack III, and Grace, 1 great-granddaughter, Rilynn, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bishop Jack R. Anderson, Sr.
Funeral services are Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy, 5855 Central Ave., Portage with her 3 sons and Pastor Dannie Tackett officiating.
