Carolyn S. Brown

Carolyn S. Brown (nee Jones), age 65, of Lake Station, IN passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023.

Carolyn was born on May 17, 1954 in Jackson, TN to the late George and Zora (nee Alexander) Jones.  She was a domestic engineer and cared for her family and her home.  Carolyn married Lamoine "Bud" Brown on July 8, 1987 and spent 38 years together.

Carolyn was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #100 and a past member of the Hobart Eagles.  She enjoyed creating stained glass and was a great storyteller.  Carolyn loved to fish but did not like to eat what she caught.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Carolyn is survived by her husband: Bud; daughter: Heather (Steve) Carrington; grandsons: Jaccob (Kathy) and Dalton (Tiffany) Carrington; great-grandchildren: Lilly Lashae, Aiden Floyd, and Marly Araya Carrington; and dear friends who became family: Mary Ellen Snellgrove and Dakota Buckner.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents: George and Zora, and son: Verle Huddleston, Jr.

Family and friends may gather at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel (600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart) on Thursday, July 6, 2023 from 2:00-8:00 P.M.  A funeral service will take place at Rees Hobart Chapel on Friday, July 7, 2023 at 12:30 P.M.  At rest, Graceland Cemetery.
