IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carolyn Sue
Freeman
September 10, 1943 – December 12, 2025
Carolyn Sue (Bjerkness) Freeman, 82, of Hobart, Indiana, passed away on December 12, 2025, in Central City, Kentucky. She was born on September 10, 1943, in Gary, Indiana, to Clarence and Martha Bjerkness and was raised alongside her siblings in a close-knit family. She retired from RB&W in Blue Island, Illinois and had also worked at Screw and Bolt in Gary, Indiana. Those early years instilled in her a deep appreciation for family, a bond she carried with her throughout her life. Carole was a strong-willed and loving woman who lived life true to herself, and whose greatest joy was her family. She was known for her bold, quick wit, which was always memorable. The stories she told, and the laughter she shared with her family, will always be remembered. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, whom she missed dearly (Jeffrey Hughes), parents, her husband, Randy Freeman, and two dear sisters, Georgia Nedderman and Judy Hannigan. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Josh (Amanda) Hughes, and Tiffany (Josh) Campos, and four great-grandchildren; her loving sisters, Gail Dayhoff, Lindel Lonigro, Barbara (Bill) Reed, and Penny (LeeRoy) Vick; and several nieces and nephews who held a very special place in her heart. Her strength, love, and determination will live on through the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of her family and friends. Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
