Carolyn Lee Merrell, age 66, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017. Carolyn was born on December 17, 1950 to the late Karol and Sally (nee Kibble) Ferris. In her free time, she volunteered at the Life Care Center in Valparaiso. Carolyn treasured the time she spent with friends at her home. She will be remembered as a dedicated mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Carolyn is survived by daughters, Heather Bennett, Shelley (Patrick) Putz; grandchildren, Cheyanne Bennett, Kyla Putz, Noah Putz; sister, Judy Spaulding; and beloved cat, Spook.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Joe Watson.

A memorial service for Carolyn will take place Sunday, January 8, 2017 at 6:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, IN 46342, with Father David Kime officiating.
