Carolyn J. Zieba

Carolyn J. Zieba, age 76 of Portage passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017. She was a longtime Portage resident and was formerly of Gary. Carolyn was born on February 6, 1941 in Pulaski County, Indiana, the second of 10 children of the late Carl and Mary Fitz . She was a longtime member of American Legion Post 260 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, country music and helping raise her grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Eric J. Zieba of Portage, IN; Alan (Rhonda) Zieba of Peoria, AZ; one daughter Carol "Carrie" (Richard) Ebner of Yorkville, IL; 6 grandchildren, Amber, Korie, Sara, and Paige Ebner and Brianna and Ashlyn Zieba.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Zieba.

Funeral services are Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 5 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage. Visitation is Sunday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, Portage with Pastor Howard Seel officiating. Cremation will follow with Rees Funeral and Cremation Service.
