Casimiro G. Lara, age 77, of Merrillville, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019. He was born on October 22, 1941 in Big Spring, Texas to the late Juan and Inez Lara. He was retired from Local# 81 Laborers Union. He was a dedicated member of Defenders Faith Center in Lake Station.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Consuelo Lara; sons, Paulo Lara of Merrillville, Pedro Lara of Merrillville; and brother, Rafael (Juana) Lara of Reynosa Tamaulipas, Mexico.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Clara Hinojosa and Berta Lara.

A funeral service for Casimiro will take place Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will take place Friday at Calumet Park Cemetery.
