Obituary

Cassandra L. Parkison, age 44, of Porter, Indiana, passed away at home with her family by her side on November 4, 2026 after a long battle with Lupus and Diabetes. She was born on January 3, 1982, in Ventura, California.

Cass was a 2000 graduate of Midwest Central High School in Manito, Illinois. She had a love for fishing and singing and was a compassionate soul who was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. She especially enjoyed working in the medical field, where her caring nature allowed her to make a difference in the lives of others. Cass also had a special connection with animals and was known for her generous heart.

In her free time, Cass enjoyed crafting, particularly crocheting, embroidery, and creating beautiful pieces with resin molds. Above all else, her greatest pride and joy was being a mother to her beloved son, Alexander. She loved him deeply and was devoted to him with all her heart.

Cass will be lovingly remembered for her kindness, generosity, creative spirit, and the love she shared with those fortunate enough to know her.

She is survived by her beloved son, Alexander Parkison; her mother, Debbie (Jim) Arrowood; her father, Jay (Karen) Nerdrum; her brother, Hjalte J. (Liz) Nerdrum; stepbrothers, Tony (Misty) Arrowood and Jason (Chris) Arrowood; her two beloved cats, Cookie and Cocoa; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Virgil and Darlene Sauvage, James and Pat Arrowood, and Jack and Carolyn Nerdrum.

In accordance with Cass's wishes, no services will be held. Cremation was entrusted to Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel, 3781 Central Avenue, Lake Station, Indiana.
