CATHERINE L. COMPTON, age 85, of Hobart, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013. Catherine was born on September 14, 1927 in Orleans, Indiana. She was a longtime NW Indiana resident and a member of First Baptist Church of New Chicago. Catherine will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her 2 sons, William "Mike" (Kathy) Compton and Timothy Allan Compton, all of New Chicago; 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; brother, William Russell; sisters, Ruthie Burlington and Mae Taylor; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, William in 2009 and her daughter, Connie Anderson in 2010 and by her parents, Paul and Ida Mae Russell.

A funeral service for Catherine will be April 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart with Rev. Bill Barrow officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
