Catherine "Gram" Hayhurst, age 82, of Valparaiso, IN passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022.

Cat was born on April 3, 1939 in Ellwood City, PA to the late George "Ed" and Dorothy (Allison) Lutz.  She served the community of Lake Station as a waitress at Snack Time and Stepping Stone Restaurants prior to finishing her career at Valparaiso University as a housekeeper.  Cat loved her family deeply and adored her great-grandsons: Chase and Graham.  She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

Cat is survived by her grandsons: Fred and J.R. (Nord) Joseph; great-grandsons: Chase and Graham; nieces and nephews: Vicki Bookamer, Kim Freed, Doug Freed, Chris Freed, Danny Freed, and Shalane Britton; great-niece: Annie Pander; and many cousins.

Cat was preceded in death by her parents: Ed and Dorothy; daughter: Connie Ann Lutz; siblings: Ivia Belle Freed and Fred Lutz; and ex-husband and close friend: Nord "Dutch" Hayhurst.

Cremation and arrangements are entrusted to Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.
